There are many resume styles typically used by job seekers today and choosing the right one is essential if you want to stand a chance of making a favorable impression in the current highly competitive job market.

Why so many different styles you ask? For one thing, the wide variety of methods by which documents are sent nowadays requires a different resume style for each one. You cannot expect a resume that is intended for physical viewing to work just as well when it is emailed or faxed and vice versa. The growing trend of viewing documents online has naturally also brought about a need for a resume style that is more appropriate for this medium.

The particular position that you are applying for may also require a very specific resume style, and you should be prepared to adapt your present resume to best display your skills according to the situation at hand. This after all is what the main purpose of a resume is: to show off your capabilities.

By far, the most widespread form of resume writing is the chronological style, which as the name implies lists all of the positions that you have worked in starting with the most current.

A newer resume style-the functional style-has been increasingly more popular recently. This method involves listing your most significant accomplishments first, with lesser accomplishments following. This will allow any would-be employer to quickly skim through your qualifications and determine if you are right for the job. At the same time, this form also allows you to play up your strengths.

You'll find a few other resume styles as well, but most of them are just variations of the chronological and functional resumes. By the way, don't shy away from experimenting with different combinations of resume styles to suit your needs. The whole idea behind the resume is to communicate your abilities in the clearest way possible, and choosing the best resume style gives you the freedom to do that.

Thinking about hiring a house cleaner? To some it may seem like a total luxury, but to others it can be a survival strategy.

The reasons people hire help to clean their home vary widely. Some people work such long hours at their careers they find all their free time spent in doing chores. Many times it is worth every cent to hire it done in order to truly have your free time, which creates a better work life balance.

Others hire help because of other issues such as health challenges or they simply do not have the time in their busy schedules. Many elderly also hire help especially with larger more strenuous tasks.

When thinking about hiring help, consider if you lean towards a cleaning company, or a single owned business person who does their own labor. There are advantages and disadvantages to both.

If you choose to hire a company some of the drawbacks is that is can be more expensive as they have more overhead to cover. You also may not get the same person each time, which is difficult if you found someone you really liked. On the other hand, if you are dissatisfied with the work you usually have recourse in complaining to a supervisor. Many of these companies provide training their employees.

On the other hand, sole business owners who do their own labor many times are a wonderful option. It's their reputation on the line and many times go out of the way to make sure their customers are happy. Check if they are bonded or insured. If not, you have to decide it that's a risk you're willing to take or not.

Interview your prospects. Here's some things you'll want to ask? What do they charge? What does that include? How long does that take them? Do they supply the cleaning supplies or are you expected to? Ask for references and check them. Do they clean while you are home or away?

Be clear about what you're looking for. Which tasks do you want done, how often? Think about any other expectations you would have.

Many people are surprised once they research that it may be very affordable to them. Perhaps it means giving up a few lattes, but that might be a price you're very willing to pay in order to gain more free time. Alot of people who hire house cleaners find it worth every cent!

When you own your own business, you generally would expect to have more "ups" than "downs." It's most people's dream to be your own boss. The money is generally better and you are your own boss. However having to deal with your own employees can be a bit of a downside.
